Having Joy and Satisfaction in Life

It is possible to have joy and satisfaction in life even though you have bipolar schizophrenia or another mental illness.

I will write about this at HealthCentral near the end of this month. Expecting yourself to have a sunburst of a mood all the time or wanting to always have excitement in your life will set a person up for disappointment.

It’s why I make the case for being grateful for what you do have and for the gifts God gave you.

One thing that cheered me was that I got my haircut in a secret room on Saturday. It was an ordinary day yet getting the haircut gave it a special effect. I recommend that after a good haircut you have your stylist take photos of you to post on social media or to just print up and place in a photo album.

These illnesses can rob us of things yet it’s better to focus on the positive: to see that we CAN do and we CAN have things in our life that give us joy and satisfaction.

Piede sulla terra or feet on the ground is my motto.

I’ll end here by saying each of us deserves to be happy. Pay the haters no attention when they’re jealous of you for wanting to better yourself.

It’s often as simple as this. Doing what gives you joy is an umbrella for life’s storms.
